She’s done a lot of work with PBS Kids and WGBH, which was what initially caught our eye. The piece above was done for a “Between the Lions” online game called Theo’s Puzzles, which you can see online.
Her character designs are really interesting, and can be seen on the web and in print. Her “Meet the Greens” characters, initially for use at WGBH, then became an integral part of the Healthyville exhibit, an experience she describes on her website:
I was the lead character designer on the Healthyville exhibit, now on view at The Stepping Stones Museum for Children. As part of the WGBH Interactive team, I worked closely with the museum and environmental design firm Workshop Design to create characters and interactive games for the exhibit. The characters were also used in print materials and signage throughout the museum.
Amanda is able to create characters that speak to her personality, but also appeal to children and to the market. Her Healthyville characters attest to this, as does her extensive portfolio of work with WGBH. Here’s a little bit about Amanda in her own words:
Amanda Clarke was born and raised in Rochester, the crown jewel of western New York. She specializes in character design and illustration and has designed extensively for the web with a focus on children’s media. Amanda has also shown her fine art in galleries throughout New England. She likes rock ‘n roll, iced coffee and French Bulldogs.
You can see more of her work on her blog, flickr page and etsy shop.
Her fine art work is as successful as her kids work, and is often on exhibit or on display. We are so glad to have Amanda joining our team. Check out her work today!
